Dead Dog Cat

#18, 19, 20, 21

Busy as yesterday was, I was very close to finishing several books, and did so:

First was Path of the Assassin Volume 9: Battle for Power Book 1, a manga covering the rise of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Second was Iron Sunrise, a sequel to another book by Charles Stross that hung together pretty well; starts with an induced supernova, and gets more interesting from there.

Third was Anthony Bourdain's book, No Reservations: Around the World on an Empty Stomach, a compilation of photos and memories from his travels from the Travel Network's show, No Reservations, which is a marked improvement on the Food Network show Bourdain did called A Chef's Tour. (For one thing, NR is an hour per show, to ACT's half; also, it's obvious that the TN is letting Bourdain do his thing with minimal interference, while FN must have really curtailed his penchant for outrageous language and behavior).

Fourth was Shinju by Laura Joh Rowland, the first book of a series of mysteries set in shogunate Japan. It's not a bad start, and I'll follow it for a while, and see how they progress.
