Dead Dog Cat

#29, 30, 31, 32

Big time for catching up on graphic novels; I'd found a treasure trove of TPBs in Berkeley of Warren Ellis' works.

First was an SF piece called Switchblade Honey, which was so-so.

I followed that by reading several books following Ellis' character William Gravel, a combat magician for the British SAS. These included Strange Killings: The Body Orchard, Strange Killings: Strong Medicine, and Strange Killings: Necromancer. Gorey, messy, moderately interesting.

Having caught up there, I read two comics that follow those TPBs; Gravel #0 and 1. A bit more interesting, and slightly better artwork.

Two days ago, I managed to break my record at work, seeing 32 patients in a day. Delightful! This'll help with the balance of trade!

Last night, we were visited at Rancho Paley by four out of five members of a family that we used to socialize with back in Chicago before we moved here. The Passovoys spent some time with forestcats wandering the beach at Venice, then out here they played with our pets, and we went out with them for all-you-can-eat sushi. Yummy, and great company. Hopefully, I'll be spending more quality time with them in the next few days.
