Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Yesterday, after a long time reading, I finished the last book I have by Iris Chang, called The Chinese in America: A Narrative History.

I found the book to be very thought-provoking. It details the Chinese experience, coming to the US, but it also discusses events in China itself that led to the migration of Chinese in the first place. I'd recommend this book, not just because of the light it sheds on this particular ethnic group, but because it shows a strong comparison to the experiences of a number of immigrant ethnicities.

Great book; too bad the author will no longer be writing in this vein.
