Dead Dog Cat

Last night, I finished another book from the library, this one being The Scents of Eden: A History of the Spice Trade. It was a heavily detailed story of the European effort to get past the geographic barriers and bring home mace, cloves, nutmeg and pepper from what is now Indonesia and Malaysia. This is a fairly bloody history, and includes the Portugese, Dutch, Spanish, English and Americans.

I also gave up on reading another book. This one was Antagonist, which was apparently completed after the death of Gordon R. Dickson, and was supposed to fit into the Childe Cycle. Perhaps it's been too long since I read any of those books, but this one just didn't gel for me. Dropped it.
