Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Having been prompted by seeing a trailer for an unexpected movie (The Men Who Stare at Goats), I pulled out a book from my to-be-read pile, and read it. It was, not surprisingly, The Men Who Stare at Goats, by Jon Ronson, and it deals with US military and intelligence oranizations' use of strange and untested means of intelligence gathering methods, like psychic ones, as well as killing things with their minds. It starts out as if the book's trying to be funny, but it rapidly becomes unfunny, and even scary. Might be worth checking it out.

I also read another Warren Ellis comic, Ignition City #5; it seems to be the end of the run, but I hope he revisits it, because it's a solid and interesting background. Watch for it in tpb format.

This morning, I finished up another comic; the latest issue of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (#5). Since it's still using the text of the novel, simply making it graphic, it's still pretty interesting. Worth a looksee, though I suspect at this point it would be better to just wait for the inevitable tpb.
