Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

I was fairly late getting home last night from work, so we cleared out the DVR with dinner, and then put on a Netflix disc of Napoleon, and watched the first half, a PBS documentary about the Corsican general. Not bad...

Last night, I puttered with, and abandoned two books. In each case, I just found myself disinterested.

First I tried reading Marching Through Georgia, but I couldn't disengage my disbelief enough to give it a chance. Then, I picked up Larry Niven's Ringworld Children, and the same issue applied, for different reasons. As much as I would enjoy playing in an RPG set on the Ringworld, it doesn't mean that just any old story about it will stimulate me, I guess.

So, on to other books.

Looking up in the sky the last two nights I got an eyeful.

Last night, while I stood in one nursing home parking lot in Upland, CA, I was shocked to see a dirigible, lit from inside, orange, advertising Conan on TBS!

Then, tonight, while standing in a nursing home parking lot in Alta Loma, CA, I was amazed when I was looking up at the moon, with a planet nearby in the sky, when a meteor flashed between the two. Cool!
