Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Busy day. I got all my work done by a reasonable time, and then headed home.

Chores done. Shifted the warmer. Prepped the curried fruit and the oyster pie. They'll both need oven time in the morning. Ran two loads of dishes in the dishwasher.

Of course, the florescent lights in the kitchen had to fail this evening, but forestcats ran out to Home Depot and got fresh bulbs, so that disaster was averted.

While all this work was going on, I put on the penultimate disc of Young Indiana Jones which we proceeded to not watch, but we did once again watch the special features of the disc, which were four lectures about the history and some individuals from Hollywood after WWI. These included the early moghuls, the earliest producers, and some of the early directors (i.e. John Ford, Erich von Stroheim). Very interesting, again. There's but one more disc in the set, and we've laid this show to rest.

I think maybe I'm James Burke-d out...I tried reading The Axemaker's Gift, but I didn't find it engaging. It's almost as though he's been rewriting Connections over and over again, with slight variations in his starting theme, but not enough different to truly get my attention. Oh, well.

I've read two comics, this week. The first is DMZ #59 - I wonder if they're planning to end the series soon? The second was Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? #17, as the book advances...
