Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

This is a pretty remarkable rainstorm for Southern California. It's still raining, constantly, rather than overcast with occasional drizzles, and it's expected to continue for at least another thirty-six hours. The worst concentrations are expected today, even. Wow. I have to wonder how the snowpack in the Sierras will be by the end of all this; that's a measure of stored water for us.

Due to having done all the nursing homes on Sunday, I got home VERY early yesterday, and I got out of wet clothes and changed into something warm quickly. forestcats had also abandoned wet pants/socks/etc. after feeding the equines and was under a blanket. Can't blame her. For dinner, it was a comfort food night, and she used her cheddar to make grilled cheese sandwiches. Nice.

Unfortunately, the mailman had dropped half of our mail into the water; that included the Netflix mailing of the second Carnivale disc. I dried it off, and we were off to the races. We watched six episodes of the show in a row, and only stopped when we ran out of Monday. I expect we'll do some more tomorrow. I find the show eerie and fascinating. Too bad it didn't finish the planned run...
