Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Once again, I was home by a reasonable hour, and forestcats and I enjoyed leftovers from the roast from earlier in the week for dinner. Then we put on the fifth disc of season one of Carnivale, catching us up on what Netflix sent us.

Unless something's changed, I have a maximum of four stops at work today, though none of them will be quick; especially not the first, as I'll probably be seeing at least fourteen people at that first site. OTOH, fewer stops means having to go out into the rain less often. Since the really big storm has just hit the shore, and is expected this far inland at any time, I'd prefer it that way. Tomorrow is supposed to be relatively clear; let's hope so.

Yesterday, I finished a library copy of Generation Kill: Devil Dogs, Iceman, Captain America and the New Face of American War by Evan Wright, who was a reporter imbedded with the First Marine Recon Battalion in the Iraqi Invasion. He's not the best writer I've ever read, but he does a fairly good job of reporting the events of the first month or so. Apparently, HBO made a mini-series based on this book, which I'll have to seek out.
