Dead Dog Cat

#28

Last night, I finished reading the book The Orchid Thief: A True Story of Beauty and Obsession by Susan Orlean, which was ostensibly the stimulus for the movie Adaptation. I found some of her outrageously lengthy paragraphs maddening, but the background she laid out about Florida and orchids were good.

OTOH, I gave up on another James Burke book, in this case Circles. I loved Connections, but his other works seem almost like he's a one-trick pony...

Once home, yesterday, I helped forestcats build another raised planter, in the spot previously occupied by the pond. I bet that there'll be some good growth there!

We then popped out to get a quick dinner at Marie Callendar's. It was food. My stomach stopped complaining. From there, we went to Kinko's, or whatever it's called these days, and produced more materials for Dungeonmaster. (Show today, BTW) Then, at the urgings of our three cats, we stopped at Petsmart to get wet food for them.

Into the evening, I put on enough Top Gear to finish season two. They still amuse me.
