Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

What a successful weekend!

We start, of course, with the fiesta we held Thursday. Each day thereafter was busy, indeed.

Yesterday, we got the second shelving unit constructed and in position in what is rapidly becoming my wife's sewing room. It won't be long before the sewing machine (or machines), and the serger are in position and running. I'm very happy for her; it'll be nice for her not to have to take it all down, incomplete, every time we have some event at the house.

The Thanksgiving dishes are all washed, now, though putting away the new silverware that forestcats bought because she thought we needed another set will be an event for later in the week. The cutting boards are no longer glaring balefully at me, either.

Lots of laundry got washed, dried, and put away, but there's still a lot to be done, unfortunately. I must try to do at least one load every night this week.

We got out of the house just before sunset to go stroll in a park in south Chino, which is protected wetlands. It sits right next to a solar farm, with all the collectors, so we have this juxtaposition of technology and the natural world. Very interesting. Nice, quiet, out of the way; not directly on any major streets. It sits south of the prison. Ducks, rabbits, raptors, coots. Nice place.

Following that, we went out for some sushi at a place recommended by another doctor. In Claremont, it's called Hayato; it's small, quiet, with good food, served fairly traditionally. I put it in the top three of sushi bars, in our area, and there's a lot of them.

Now, back to the work week. Nursing homes tonight.
