Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Bits and pieces:

Tuesday morning I was heading to work via an unusual route for me, north on I-15 - the view of the mountains, covered to a low elevation in snow was breathtaking.

Last night as I was backing into the driveway, there was a red, somewhat longhaired cat hanging around my wife's truck. I know, intellectually, that it couldn't be our longlost cat, Natalia, but hope sprang up anyway. Turned out to be a tom, instead, but damned if he didn't come when encouraged, and deigned to be scratched at all the right points. I pulled out my iPhone and called forestcats outside, just in case, and she, too, was honored with permission to pet this cat. However, I don't expect him to get into the house; the dog door is reasonably well sealed away from the average invader.

This morning, early, we had a delivery. We now have a pedestal for the washing machine, as well as the dryer, which gives us significantly more storage space in the laundry room. This is a GOOD THING. We are pleased, yes we are.

I don't get much in the way of mail. Usually, I have to generate it myself, by ordering via Amazon, or from Powells.com, or such-like. So I was surprised at the arrival last night of an Amazon package when I hadn't ordered anything. What was it, but a book, obviously purchased off my Amazon Wish List by sekl. I'm flabbergasted and delighted. Many thanks!
