Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

I finally finished reading Crucible of Gold by Naomi Novik, the latest of the Temeraire books. If you haven't read them, they are a re-write of the Napoleonic Wars with the addition of aerial combat in which the armies have dragons as well as navies, armies, cannons, and so forth. In this one there's reconciliation, shipwreck, exploration of a continent, and repatriation of captives. I especially like the symbiosis between the dragons and their people. If you haven't read any of the series, I recommend you start at the beginning, rather than with this book, which, IIRC, was His Majesty's Dragon.

My wife and I caught up with season three of The Mentalist, which now brings us up to date with the DVDs, though season four is presently running on TV. If they go on to a fifth season, I think we'll capture it on DVR, but for now, we wait for season four to be released on DVD.

Thank you, Netflix.
