Dead Dog Cat

Things got a little busier the last day or so, which is a good thing.

Thursday night, once home, we put on a disc from Netflix: Wilde. It dealt with the years of fame of Oscar Wilde. A little boring, perhaps. Great man brought low by British aristocrat/spoiled brat...

Last night we went to Temple Israel of Hollywood (Norah Efron's synagogue...also Leonard Nimoy's) for Ororah and Nick Neisler's baby naming. We met Lilith, eleven weeks old! The parents were kind enough to let forestcats and I hold her through the service, which was delightful; she was very well-behaved, sleeping through most of it. At the end, I said kaddish for my father, as today is his yahrzeit (a memorial day in remembrance of his demise).

Once we returned the baby from whence she came, we stopped at Canter's deli for dinner, as we had to race across SoCal to get to services, and didn't have time to eat beforehand. Good food, and lots of familiar faces there, people who work in Hollywood in various capacities. Our waitress was attentive, and we enjoyed our meal. Then home.

When I finally woke enough this morning to really open my eyes, I finished a book I was reading, called Osprey Campaign #209: Niagara 1814: The Final Invasion which dealt with the US attempt during the War of 1812 to invade Canada. It still failed.
