Once I got home from work, last night, and out of the heat, I basically ran out of steam, and just hung out in the den. It was an evening of clearing out a few things from the Netflix streaming queue.

First was Cave of Forgotten Dreams, about a cave found in France not all that long ago, primarily sealed up to protect some magnificent artwork done tens of thousands of years ago, depicting animals of the region of the time: rhinos, lions, antelopes, buffalo. Terrific documentary.

Then, on a roll, I put on Man on a Mission, a story of the man known as Lord British to those of us who had the old Ultima games back in the day. He bought a trip on a Soyuz to the ISS, and this film deals with his preparation, and some film from the trip. Again, a delightful documentary.

I'm not going in to work today...

At a slow point in the day, yesterday, I finished up reading Osprey New Vanguard #7: IS-2 Heavy Tank 1944 – 73, a book about a Soviet, WWII-era tank meant to go head-to-head with the German Tiger tanks. I found the book mildly interesting, especially when they discuss the attempts to keep the tank modernized for as long as possible.

So, today is my birthday. I have the joy of having the gift from my wife of a couple of aloha shirts she made from fabrics I picked, and I'll be sporting one of those during the day. I have only the vaguest of plans for the day, but lazing about seems in order, rather than stressing. To all and sundry, be well today!
