Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Yesterday, I finished reading a book, not involved in the online courses I've been taking. This one was Osprey Raid #20: The Great Chevauchee: John of Gaunt’s Raid on France 1373. It taught me something more about the Hundred Years War, clarifying why the English didn't succeed in swallowing up France at the time. Interesting read.

The heat has been rising here for the last couple of days, and it's once again rather uncomfortable. I've been finishing four or five bottles of water a day while driving around, which helps some.

Thursday, we received (on schedule) the box of books and other written material that we'd shipped home, as we had too much weight in our luggage. Apparently, forestcats was astonished to discover that she'd purchased more books than I had. I've added several books to the pile to be read soon, but with the Fantasy and Science Fiction Literature online class eating up much of my available reading time, it's likely that they'll have to wait until I've completed the course. As it was, I wasn't able to finish the second book of last week's material before the essay, and so I'm still working on Herland; right now I'm around half finished with The Martian Chronicles which I have to complete before writing my next essay due Tuesday. Just like being in college.
