Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

It was quite the day, yesterday, in that it was once again time to take down the Road to California Quilt Show, something that we do annually for a very long time. It was nice to hang with the volunteers again, and our work was done quickly and efficiently. Following our normal duties, we then assisted the special display chairperson with some of her quilts, and then left for a well-deserved meal.

Being that I was on call yesterday, I didn't get to the show until just before we started working, so I had only a few moments to prowl the aisles to look at the artwork. Even so, there were some astonishingly beautiful quilts to see. Well worth the entry fee!

Considering that I was quite busy yesterday, it's pretty surprising that I got this many books done since my last post, however these are all fairly short, and I'm a quick read.

Anyway, I completed the following books:

First was Osprey Raid #41: Tombstone: Wyatt Earp, the O.K. Corral, and the Vendetta Ride 1881 - 82 which includes not only the history of those involved, but also descriptions of special gunslinger moves. Amusing.

Then, Nobody's Home by Tim Powers, a short tale carrying forward characters from The Anubis Gates, one of my favorite books by this author. Nice piece of work; I'd like to see him expand it into a novel.

Finally, Osprey New Vanguard #2: M1 Abrams: Main Battle Tank 1982 - 1992 which goes into its planning, it's production, and its use. Not bad.
