So, over the last couple of days, I streamed The American with George Clooney; what a downer of a film! Not recommended. Then I played via Netflix disc Captain Phillips, the movie about Somali piracy. This was an intense, excellent film. Amazing.

Since I'm presently on call, there's no going to the theaters for the time being. There's several films I wouldn't mind seeing; just not going to happen immediately.

Also, while I'm thinking about it, there's a stack of comics that I read since I last posted about it. These include:

Apocalypse Al #2, 3, 4 - I liked this very much; I think it was a limited series, though. I'll watch to see if JMS returns to it in the future.

Ten Grand #9 - That puts me up-to-date; this IS a continuing series, so the next one ought to be out any time now.

Dream Police #1 - JMS dealing with the law in the world of dream (rather than the world of Dream; that's a different author). I enjoyed it so far; we'll see when the next book comes out.

Saga #19 - This is a great series. Prior books are collected into graphic novels, if you're thinking of giving it a try.

7th Sword #1, 2 - This is an SF saga in a distant colony after the pull-out of military forces trying to stabilize a balkanized situation on this planet. The protagonist is one of the soldiers who didn't manage to get to the evacuation ships before the troops exited there. I will follow this for a while longer.

Serenity: Leaves on the Wind #5 - Wow. IIRC, there's only one more book to this particular storyline...
