Finally, I was off call at 0700 yesterday, and promptly I had to round at one hospital. Once done with that, and then a stop at the grocery store for a couple of necessary items, we headed out for Costa Mesa, where we'd been invited for a 4th of July BBQ.

forestcats tomato salad was devoured in no time; I knocked back a couple of ciders; a large pack of kids none older than ten raced in and out, sometimes paced by young parents and sometimes not. It was a delightful pandemonium.

As dusk deepened into night the whole neighborhood exploded into fireworks, not unlike Chino does. Some were spectacular, others irritating. Later on, as we drove home there were fireworks in all directions.

The whole menagerie was on hand when we walked into the house, and stayed close by us all night...poor doggies...

Dungeonmaster is having a show tonight at AnimeExpo, so we'll be off in a while. I hope to meet up with hendel there.

Fireworks can be so scary for pets. Glad yours made it through all right and were able to stay close.
