We had a hugely busy time in the last forty-eight hours:

Friday night we hosted our Havurah for Sukkot; the Jewish harvest festival. Thursday night we built the thing (out of the PVC pipe of former events), and Friday forestcats decorated it, and the recalcitrant construction decided to fall on her...Oy!...so in the evening we had some of the gang over, and we had just enough so that our friend who is in mourning could say the proper prayer. Very pleasant, but also good to discharge that particular duty.

Saturday morning we were up early and out early and met up with the Archers to go to the JPL Open House; it started at 0900 hours, and we were pulling into parking a minute or two in advance, which was brilliant! It meant that the first four places we visited there was hardly anyone there, but by about the fifth, things were crowded, and by noon it was pretty tough to get into some of the exhibits. We headed back home about one or so.

After a short rest and recovery, we got back in the truck to go to Alhambra and meet up with thechaim42 and Courtney to have stuffed pizza at Nancy's. I'm glad to say that our friends appeared to have enjoyed the meal, and we also enjoyed the conversation. Nice time...

Home, I had to go out to round on one patient at the hospital, while my wife had to get foodstuffs for cast feeding at Dungeonmaster, which is having the third show of the season today at 7PM at The Vortex (so, be there!). I have some show-related chores to do today, and I have that same patient to see, so...

I've got to be off!

We had Nancy's for supper earlier this week. Do you think their deep dish pizza is authentic and delicious? I'm never sure what to think of deep dish pizza, personally, but it is in our neighborhood, so I guess we will try to support it.

It's not quite the same as the stuffed pizza from Giordano's or Edwardo's that we like so much from Chicago. However, it's the third one we've had from the shop since they opened, and to be honest, this most recent one is the best I've had from them so far, so I think it's authentic enough. Our problem is that it's a long way to come for a pizza...
