First book I finished was Crusader: By Horse to Jerusalem. The author followed the trail of the First Crusade, and he describes his experiences in going by horse along the whole route, interspercing his travelogue with what happened to the crusaders on the same route. Nicely done.
Then, Osprey Raid #36: Avenging Angel: John Brown's Raid on Harpers Ferry 1859, which I didn't care for. I don't know if in this era of terrorists and school shootings that I can't cope with the ideology and Brown's intention to raise a slave revolt, or if it's the whole slave thing that I found distasteful and colored my reading of the book, but it didn't sit well with me.
Finally, just before bed I finished reading Osprey Warrior #164: RAF Fighter Command Pilot. Well, these fellows would be among the most celebrated soldiers of the entirety of WWII, and this book goes into some detail about them. Pretty good.
