A few nights back, forestcats and I put on a Netflix disc of Paddington. I found it cute and amusing, if somewhat predictable.

Sunday night was devoted to services with the Havurah; Monday to my family. We spent some very good time at my sister's place with some of her extended family, and we had some relaxed time to chat.

Finished the night at Ground Control, since we were driving by at the right time.

I woke this morning to sounds that didn't immediately register with me; then I realized that I was hearing rain, and for SoCal, rather heavy rain! Amazing! The horses and donkey are hiding under the eaves of the barn...the dogs are barely moving from forestcats side...two cats were evident when I woke, but Sven didn't show up until there was a short break in the downpour. He was relatively dry, so we think he hid under something, and only headed home when the flow diminished. Now it's coming down heavier, and the ground has probably already soaked up all it can. Any more and it'll just flow off to the sea...

Kid flicks have to be predictable, else they would weird the kids out. Mental flexibility comes later in life, and with some is something they never develop.

I'm not so sure about that; Pixar films aren't all that predictable, and they're definitely good for all ages.
This ain't no party, this ain't no disco...
