I had hospital rounds to do Christmas morning, and I'm glad that I was able to discharge half of them home. The patient and family were delighted to be out "in time", which was nice.

At home we had a guest; vampireanneke came by and spent the day. It turns out that she's a relative newcomer to the Discworld (Terry Pratchett's fantasy land, the place where some 40+ novels and short stories took place), and so we played our DVDs of Hogfather and The Color of Magic. It was a nice way to spend the day, sharing. In the early evening, she had to leave, so my beloved and I took a drive around the neighborhood and took in the local Christmas lights. One yard in particular caught my eye, with lit up dolls riding a ferris wheel contraption. Gorgeous.

Home, I put on something that had turned up in Netflix streaming, a documentary called Steak Revolution done by a Frenchman, going to ten different places in France (including Corsica), Brazil, Argentina, the US and the UK to find the best steaks in the world. He interviewed chefs, butchers, ranchers and other folks all associated with the business of beef. Fascinating piece of work, highly recommended!

Back to the hospital in a little while, hopefully to discharge the other gentleman...
