For starters, we did a tour of several quilt shops for my beloved on Saturday, secondarily having some interesting foodstuffs on the way. Specifically, there was an ice cream shop called Creamistry where they made the ice cream fresh right in front of you. It takes billowing clouds of liquid nitrogen, which makes for quite a floor show.
On Sunday, as a good friend was flying in to be an extra on season two of ConMan and we were going to spend the day with her once she landed, we stopped in another quilt store in Santa Monica, which turned out to be pretty cool. Still awaiting notification that she'd landed, we then buzzed down to Penzey's Spices in Torrance and while we were there she let us know she'd arrived. Thereafter, we met at her hotel, and took Uber over to Venice Beach. We strolled the canals, and then the beachfront, hung out for a little while by the skateboard park and the drum circle, and then went to dinner at Maple Block Meat Company. I continue to love their prime rib. After the meal, we hung out and chatted for a few hours. While conversing, we fell into discussing the Library Bards, and showed our friend their videos.
Home late in the evening, pets settled down.
Happy Independence Day, folks!
