Home life was also busy.
Monday night was Ground Control, the industrial/alternate/goth karaoke in Glendale that we attend occasionally. Although it was supposed to be a combined birthday party for the DJ, as well as a sendoff for Burning Man, it turned out to be a comedy of errors as several pieces of hardware gave up the ghost. It was still great fun, and we enjoyed the opportunity to wish the_angelus a wonderful natal anniversary.
Tuesday. My beloved has changed her milking night from Tuesdays to Thursdays, and so we took the opportunity to go to the Food Truck event on the south side of Montclair Plaza Shopping Center. In the past there's been up to ten or eleven trucks attending, and there's plenty of folks who come and enjoy it, but this time IIRC there were about seven, and one was purely dessert. I can't recall the name of the truck, but their food was based on Argentinian cuisine. I'm afraid that their chimichurri didn't excite me too much, though the sandwich that I had was overall not bad at all. For our dessert, forestcats bought a bananas foster crepe from Crepes Bonaparte truck; they've been around forever and give very good quality food. Great evening.
The dogs have been walked nearly every night this week, which they've loved!
We finished a Netflix disc, something we really haven't done since the Olympics started; this one was from season two of Boardwalk Empire and the second episode on it was simply fantastic. I'll have to be patient for the next one.
Last night we went out and saw Kubo and the Two Strings which we felt was an excellent film. Beautifully wrought, excellent characterization, great story. Very much worth seeing. We will be buying the Blu-ray.
I'm sure I've forgotten a detail or two...I write these here mostly for my own recollection, but also to share with friends. I've had diaries in the past, though I rarely kept them for more than a few months at a time. This stuff on LJ I've been doing for years now, a few a week. Interesting to folks or not, there it is...
