First was another book by Paul Doherty in the series set in 1380s London with the coroner and friar, called The House of Shadows; pretty fair. I think it's the latest in that series.
Next was Warren Ellis' book Crecy, which reinacts via comic book style the battle of Crecy and gives an English view of things. Rather cool, and it makes history more visual than I've ever seen it outside of a movie theater.
Finally was a manga, this one being Path of the Assassin #7: Center of the World, and it really makes me understand the difference in the world viewpoint of Japan. I won't say that the sexual materials in it were necessary, but they did drive home certain points.
