I finished a book/short story by Tim Powers, called A Soul in a Bottle, which was a ghost story of Hollywood. Nice twist.
I also finished another Anthony Bourdain fiction item, called Gone Bamboo; very readable.
I dumped a Raymond Feist book that I'd picked up long ago, but hadn't tried to read, called Faerie Tale. I just couldn't get into it.
Last night, after a nice meal, a dog walk, and lighting the first Hanukkah candles (not necessarily in that order), we watched three episodes of Joan of Arcadia. I have to say that I really like watching TV in which there are changes in the characters caused by the show's events, and that you get to see the consequences of what passed before, rather than the old standards of all the main characters remain unchanged, show after show. Much more interesting with events actually doing something to people, just like real life...
