I had hoped that the switch-over from 2007 to 2008 would change the tenor of my life from last January onwards. We'll just have to see, but I have to admit that I feel a bit like some weight has shifted.

Today will be my first working day in the new offices. This should be very interesting...

When I finally got settled down last night at home, I pulled out another Netflix disc, and watched the first episode of ST:DS9. Now, I had seen this one before, but having seen now ST:TNG, which I hadn't back when I originally watched the former show, it makes a lot more sense. In addition, it looks to me like DS9 is a generally better show; I hope the next seven years worth of shows holds up to that.

Ruminating on the previous year, I spent a couple of minutes looking up this and that, and came to the conclusion that in 2007, I had read 134 books, slightly more than eleven a month, or better than one every three days. This, in a world where many of the people I work with, aside from reading work-related materials, read only one or two books a year. I have to admit that that amazes me. Reading is just so ingrained in me.

The weather forecast for the next several days suggests that there's going to be a lot of rain; sitting home doing nothing much sounds delightful...
