So, in a spark of creativity, I suggested we try going to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. It's not a place that we've been to before; it opened ten years ago, so it didn't exist when I was a youth (high school and college years, when I had a car, and time to explore). Heck, it didn't even exist when I was working in the area for CIGNA before I left for Friendly Hills Medical Group. Anyway, we let folks know that we'd enjoy company, and axelicious and themodeinliz chose to join us.
It's a small place when I compare it to others that I've visited, like the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, but there's some amusing things to see. The sea otter exhibit could keep us spellbound for hours, though we spent less than one there. I found the jellyfish exhibits enthralling, as well. However, it seems to be a growing place, and it was quite enjoyable.
That was followed by a meal at Alegria, on Pine, a few blocks away (and taken there by a free bus, no less!). Nice.
Thanks for joining us, guys!
