Steven Saylor's latest novel of Gordianus the Finder, The Triumph of Caesar: A Novel of Ancient Rome. This series has been pretty consistently good, and this one that deals with Gordianus' (and Caesar's) return from Africa and the situation in Rome at the time is satisfying.
I followed that by not finishing Altered English: Surprising Meanings of Familiar Words by Jeffrey Kacirk. I've read other works by this author that I found interesting that included a number of antiquated verbiage, but this one didn't actually spark me. Sad. Back to the library it goes, as well.
