Finished another book today, this being an Alan Furst novel, The Foreign Correspondent. Furst is very good at setting the scene in Europe of WWII, or just prior, and gives the right touch to the story of emigres in Paris from the end of the Spanish Civil War until just before the German invasion of Poland. At the end, I was thrilled at a little victory, since it was clear that nothing the protagonist could do would be able to stop the onslaught of war. Another very good read.
