Yesterday, I finally finished what was Dudley Pope's first book, Flag 4: The Battle of Coastal Forces in the Mediterranean, a non-fiction book with some detail about the British equivalent of PT boats during WWII in one small area of the conflict. He later went on to write the Ramage series of Napoleonic War naval novels, which I'd read long before coming onto LJ. He tried to liven up the accounts whereever he could, but it remains a trifle dry.
