Finally, we managed to get on the road to Seder at my sister's house. Luckily enough, we weren't the last to arrive. In fact, we beat my mother, even though we got there just a minute or two before the planned start time.
Seder was pleasant, and it was actually nice to be seated close to the kids' table. We headed home fairly late.
Then, home at midnight, we awoke froghugger to sing "Happy Birthday", to her consternation.
