This morning, I finally finished a Tom Holt novel that I've been slowly making my way through for well over a year. In fact, it's probably well over five years of sporadic starts and stops with this book. Not that it's bad. It's another of his historical novels which are supposed to look at their periods in humor; this one, Alexander at the World's End, is set during the years before and during, and just following, the reign of Alexander the Great from the point-of-view of one of his lesser instructors (one of his major instructors was Aristotle). When I was finally able to set down and really get going with it, it was an engaging read, but there was that problem of really sitting down to read. Still, done now, and pretty good.

I worked today; once I got home, forestcats and I headed west to go to Broken Horn for her search for some horse-related equipment that she hadn't been able to find in Norco. Once that was discovered, we went into Hollywood, and ate again at a delicious Brazilian restaurant (not a churascaria (sp?). Then it was off to Dungeonmaster, where we had a good time again, as it was a Guardian of the Flame adventure, where the players from the audience are prechosen by the audience to watch them deal with difficult traps and similar issues.

Nearing the end of the show, we had the joy of experiencing a 4.7 scaled quake that had an epenter in between Inglewood (near LAX) and Hawthorne. Barely able to cause much damage, it mostly frightens people. kar3ning kept people amused by playing the voice of God and telling people that she hadn't arranged for this problem. Cute.
