Earlier today, I finished reading The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals, which is an excellent book, well thought out and presented by Michael Pollan. It sets out very clearly four meals, one heavily industrialized, one as natural as it can be made, one "organic"/industrialized, and one hunter/gatherer. Philosophy, ethics, and an interesting backdrop. Worth reading.

In the evening, I had to attend a course about using an electronic medical record system, soon to be initiated at one of the hospitals I work at. In the middle of it, mazal_ called me to tell me about her spouse's demise. Oy. I managed to get through the rest of the class, but I'm morose, now, too.
