The day opened, yesterday, with rain. I arrived at that same parking lot that I recently mentioned seeing a flock of parrots fly over. Yesterday morning, across the street, several dozen of the same birds had flocked, and were bouncing about in two or three trees. Suddenly, more than fifty of them took flight, all at once, in a blur of green wings, sounding very much like a poorly-oiled threshing machine at work. Very cool.
In fact, by the time I finished work, yesterday, very cold. Temperatures were in the low forties, with a twenty-mile-per-hour wind from the west. Oy! I bundled up as much as I could, though my car's heater doesn't work. I made my way home, wrapped myself in a blanket, and slowly heated up.
